The design and construction of custom furniture pieces for an inner-city apartment in Melbourne. The apartment features a prominent curve, which was the basis for the design of various furniture pieces.
The main furniture piece comprises of three curved volumes with three different heights that intersect each other. Apart from providing ample storage, the curved volumes serve three functions: seating, a television stand, and a high perch for the owners’ cat. The book cabinet consists of sliding doors that feature woven panels. Wooden strips were woven around dowels to form smaller natural curves that compliment the other curves featured in the apartment.
