Cat’s Bench

Cat’s Bench is composed of a bench, a roughly cut piece of ironbark, and a branch. The bench element is joined at strange angles to make the bench topple over if it were to try to stand on its own. The  branch is the backbone of the piece, providing support by preventing flexing in the base beyond its breaking point. Two pins below the surface of the bench secure the branch in place, allowing  the branch to be removed as required.
